The Huawei Ascend is an Android operating system-based smartphone manufactured by Huawei, running Android OS 2.1 by default. It has been released in the United States for Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS unsubsidized (although with Cricket Wireless you must select the Android Plan="AndroidPlan">[1], Cricket Plans, as well as with MetroPCS, it requiring the 50 dollar plan, versus the normal 40 dollar plan.).[2]
The device features a 3.5" HVGA capacitive touch screen, 2.5mm headphone jack, 3.2 Megapixel camera, as well as an accelerometer and a compass. The HVGA capacitive touch screen is not multitouch capable.
